Data Scientist
UNC Health
Data science and analytics work supporting healthcare operations and decision-making.
DATA SCIENTIST · COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICIAN · EDUCATOR
I turn mathematics, statistics, and machine learning into practical solutions for real-world problems.
I’m a data scientist with a Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics and a background spanning statistics, optimization, machine learning, and higher education.
I enjoy taking messy, ambiguous problems and turning them into models, analyses, and tools that people can actually use. My work has included predictive maintenance, optimization, cost analysis, experimentation, and data visualization.

Old Dominion Freight Line
Built predictive models, optimization analyses, experiments, and decision-support tools using Python, SQL, R, BigQuery ML, and cloud analytics.
UNC Greensboro · Department of Mathematics & Statistics
Designed lessons, taught mathematics and statistics, developed course materials, and supported students across multiple levels.
A few examples of applied data science, modeling, and optimization.
MACHINE LEARNING
Developed a boosted-tree classification model to predict whether a vehicle was at risk of a breakdown within the next 5,000 miles. Combined fault-code and work-order history into a unified feature set.
OPTIMIZATION
Built a decision model to improve fleet rotation and reduce projected maintenance costs. The resulting approach was implemented by IT.
DATA SCIENCE
Created repeatable analyses and visualizations to support cost studies, real-estate decisions, experiments, and operational planning.
My academic background is rooted in mathematics and statistics, and I enjoy making technical material approachable, useful, and engaging.
I’m particularly interested in introductory statistics, applied mathematics, data science, and courses that connect quantitative ideas to real-world applications.
